The area

Al Raha Beach is a string of waterfront precincts rather than one neighbourhood. Al Bandar wraps around a small marina, Al Muneera faces Yas across the water, Al Zeina has a beach of its own, and Al Hadeel sits further along the shore. Most homes are apartments in mid-rise blocks over shops and cafés, with townhouses and a few beach villas mixed in. Aldar’s disc-shaped headquarters marks the western end. The promenades draw runners, cyclists and paddleboarders in the cooler months.

Getting to you

Each precinct has only a few entrances off the E10 service roads, and missing the right one means a U-turn some distance away. Give the precinct, building name and podium level along with a pin. Residents’ car parks are usually gated, so the nurse needs either a visitor bay or a guest pass from the concierge. When the nurse is coming from the city, the route crosses the Al Maqta or Sheikh Zayed bridge, where Darb peak-hour tolls apply on weekdays and Saturdays.

Why people here book

Residents here often have active, outdoor routines, and requests tend to follow them: a long run along the promenade on a humid morning, a weekend of paddleboarding, or a stint of heavy training before a race. People who fly often for work also live here, close to the airport, and ask after long-haul trips. A seasonal virus doing the rounds in a household is another common trigger. The clinician may point to sports drinks or oral rehydration first.

Timing

The E10 between the city, Yas and the airport is busy at commuting hours, and exits towards Al Raha slow to a crawl when Yas hosts a big event. Inside the precincts things are calm, though Friday evenings and weekend brunch hours fill the promenade parking. Humidity off the water makes early summer mornings feel heavier than the temperature suggests, worth remembering if you plan to exercise before a visit.
