IV drips at home in Ras Al Khaimah
Yes. IV Drip at Home arranges drips across Ras Al Khaimah: resort rooms on Al Marjan Island and in Al Hamra, homes in Al Nakheel, Al Dhait and Mina Al Arab, and towns further north towards Al Rams and Shaam. Tamam coordinates the booking on WhatsApp, and a licensed partner clinic reviews it and sends a nurse licensed by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP).

Across Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah runs from a resort coast in the south to fishing towns in the north, with the Hajar Mountains and Jebel Jais rising behind. The city wraps around a creek, with the old town on one side and Al Nakheel, Khuzam and Al Dhait on the other. Southwest along the shore come Al Hamra Village, Mina Al Arab and the man-made Al Marjan Island, where hotel and holiday-home bookings dominate. Inland, farming areas such as Digdaga and Khatt are quieter and more scattered. Each part of the emirate calls for a slightly different estimate of travel time, which is why the partner clinic asks for your exact location first.

Visitors and hotels
Ras Al Khaimah has grown into a beach and adventure destination, with large resorts on Al Marjan Island and in Al Hamra, and visitors drawn to the zipline, viewpoints and hiking trails of Jebel Jais. Many guests drive in from Dubai for a weekend; others arrive on package holidays. After a hike, a day by the pool or a long journey, some ask about a drip in their room. Resorts generally want reception to know who is visiting, and some have their own clinic, so check the policy before booking and share your room number.
Heat and seasons
On the coast, summers are long and humid, much like the rest of the Gulf shore. Jebel Jais is another world: higher up, temperatures are often noticeably lower than at sea level, and winter nights at altitude can be properly cold. Hikers who underestimate the climb, the sun or the dry mountain air can come down tired and short of fluids. Farm and quarry work keep many inland residents outdoors through the hottest months. In Ramadan, visits shift to after iftar, and the nurse confirms how the fast went before starting.
Access and parking
There are no road tolls in Ras Al Khaimah, and most nurses arrive from the south along the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Al Marjan Island is reached by causeway, and resort security checks visitors at the entrance. Al Hamra and Mina Al Arab are gated, with guards who phone ahead to the resident. In the city centre, paid parking applies on busy commercial streets, while villa districts are easier. Jebel Jais is reached by a long, winding mountain road, so any drip is best arranged once you are back down at your hotel or home.
Licensing in Ras Al Khaimah
For licensing of health facilities and health professionals, Ras Al Khaimah comes under the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). The partner clinic coordinating your visit needs a MOHAP licence, and so does the nurse who comes to you. Licences from Dubai or Abu Dhabi do not carry over automatically. Before the visit, ask us which clinic is attending; at the door, you may ask to see the nurse’s licence. The clinician decides whether the drip is suitable and can refuse it on safety grounds.
Who may give an IV drip in the UAE
In the UAE an IV drip is a medical procedure, not a beauty treatment. It is given by clinicians licensed for it, working under a licensed health facility, after an assessment. Which authority licenses them depends on where the visit happens.
| Where | Licensing authority |
|---|---|
| Dubai | Dubai Health Authority (DHA) |
| Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra | Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) |
| Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah | Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) |
We pass bookings only to partner clinics licensed for the emirate of your visit. You are always welcome to ask the nurse for their name and licence details.

Ras Al Khaimah: common questions
Can a nurse visit me at a resort on Al Marjan Island?
Usually, if the resort allows outside clinicians. Let reception know a nurse is expected and give them the partner clinic’s name, which we confirm before the visit. Island security may ask for details at the causeway. If the resort only permits its own medical team, we will tell you before anything is arranged.
I want a drip after hiking Jebel Jais. Can the nurse come up the mountain?
It is far safer to have any drip once you are back at your hotel or home; mountain roads and lay-bys are not suitable places for an infusion. If you feel dizzy, confused or faint on the mountain, stop, find shade, sip water and call 998 or 999 if symptoms are severe. A clinician can then review you for a drip later.
Do you cover northern towns like Al Rams, Shaam and Ghalilah?
Yes, with some planning. These towns lie along the coast towards the Oman border, a fair drive from the city centre. Share your area and a location pin when you message. The partner clinic will suggest a time window that fits its nurse rota, and visits there are usually booked ahead rather than on demand.
Is a drip a replacement for drinking water in the heat?
No. For most people, water, oral rehydration salts, shade and rest are enough, and they work well. A drip is a medical procedure with small risks, and the clinician weighs whether it adds anything for you. People sometimes book after vomiting, an illness or a long day outdoors, but the decision rests with the clinician after checking you in person.
