Collagen Skin Booster IV Drip at Home
Also called: collagen drip · collagen IV · skin booster drip
Despite the name, a collagen drip does not contain collagen; the protein cannot be infused. Clinics using this label usually mix vitamin C with amino acids such as proline, lysine or glycine, plus biotin or zinc. A licensed nurse from a partner clinic gives it at home or in a hotel once the clinician has approved the contents.
What is usually in the bag
Vitamin C
The body needs it to build collagen from its own amino acids. It forms the core of most of these blends, and the clinician sets the dose.
Amino acids (proline, lysine, glycine)
Building blocks found in collagen. Where a clinic offers them, they come as a ready-made amino acid solution; not every partner stocks one.
Biotin
A B vitamin often added to beauty blends. It can distort some blood test results, so mention it to any lab testing you in the following days.
Zinc
A trace mineral sometimes included in small amounts. It is left out if you already take a high-dose zinc supplement.
Because collagen drip is a marketing name rather than a defined formula, two clinics may give very different bags under it. Ask what is actually in yours; the clinician confirms the final list.
Who tends to book it
- People who saw a collagen drip advertised and want a straight answer about what it contains before deciding anything.
- Clients who already take oral collagen and wonder whether the IV version adds something, many of whom decide after the conversation that it does not.
- Residents booking a regular vitamin drip at home who would like amino acids or vitamin C included for skin reasons, subject to clinician review.
Check with a doctor first
- Anyone with kidney disease or kidney stones, because of the vitamin C and the protein load from amino acids.
- People with G6PD deficiency when higher vitamin C doses are planned.
- People with liver disease or an inherited condition affecting amino acid metabolism, unless their specialist agrees.
- Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, without their own doctor’s approval.
- Anyone expecting the drip to replace a dermatologist, sunscreen or treatment for an active skin problem.
How the visit goes
The nurse reads out the label of each vial so you can see exactly what is being infused, and asks about supplements, recent blood tests and kidney health. Vitals are taken before the clinician’s approved mix is prepared.
Amino acid solutions can sting slightly or feel cool, so the rate may start slowly. You can read, work on a laptop with one hand free, or simply rest. The nurse stays in the room for the whole infusion.
Once it has finished, the cannula comes out and a small dressing goes on. Aftercare points: drink water, protect your skin from the sun, and tell the lab you had biotin if a blood test is booked soon.
How long it takes
Most sessions run around 30 to 60 minutes once the cannula is in, and the whole visit often lasts about an hour or a little more. Amino acid solutions may be given more slowly, which lengthens the infusion. Questions about the contents are welcome and also take a few minutes.
How often
Clinics sometimes sell this blend as a monthly or fortnightly series, though no evidence supports any particular interval. The clinician decides whether a repeat is reasonable based on kidney function, diet and your goals. If thinning skin, slow healing or brittle hair worry you, a doctor can first check for anaemia, thyroid problems or protein deficiency.
What shapes the price
- Whether an amino acid solution is included
- The vitamin C dose and any biotin or zinc added
- Partner clinic and emirate
- Time of day and day of the week
- Number of guests at the same address

The UAE angle
Collagen products are everywhere in UAE pharmacies and salons, and the drip version is often sold alongside aesthetic injectables. IV Drip at Home arranges only the infusion; we do not offer fillers, injectable skin boosters or other aesthetic procedures, which belong in a dermatology or aesthetic clinic. In a climate with intense sun for much of the year, daily sunscreen, shade and not smoking matter far more to skin collagen than anything given through a vein.
Who may give an IV drip in the UAE
In the UAE an IV drip is a medical procedure, not a beauty treatment. It is given by clinicians licensed for it, working under a licensed health facility, after an assessment. Which authority licenses them depends on where the visit happens.
| Where | Licensing authority |
|---|---|
| Dubai | Dubai Health Authority (DHA) |
| Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra | Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) |
| Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah | Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) |
We pass bookings only to partner clinics licensed for the emirate of your visit. You are always welcome to ask the nurse for their name and licence details.

Questions people ask
Is there real collagen in the drip?
No. Collagen is a large structural protein that cannot be infused into a vein, and the body would break any protein down into amino acids anyway. The name refers to ingredients linked to collagen production, mainly vitamin C and certain amino acids. We would rather you knew this before booking.
Is oral collagen better or worse?
Collagen powders and drinks are digested into amino acids and small peptides. Some studies on skin hydration are encouraging but modest, and many are industry-funded. Neither the oral nor the IV form has strong proof behind it. A balanced diet with enough protein and vitamin C covers the basics either way.
Do you also do face injections or skin boosters?
No. Injectable skin boosters, fillers, botulinum toxin and similar treatments are aesthetic procedures done in licensed clinics by trained doctors. IV Drip at Home arranges intravenous drips only. If you want those treatments, book a dermatology or aesthetic clinic directly and tell them about any drips you have had.
Can I book it before a laser session or peel?
Tell the clinician about any planned or recent procedure. Many prefer a gap of a day or two between a drip and laser, chemical peels or microneedling, so that any swelling or bruising is easy to attribute. Your dermatologist’s instructions about sun and products take priority over the drip schedule.
