Pre-Event Glow IV Drip at Home or Hotel
Also called: pre-event drip · red carpet drip · photoshoot glow drip
This is a hydration drip with a modest vitamin mix, timed one to three days before a gala, photoshoot, graduation or important presentation. A licensed nurse from a partner clinic gives it at your home, hotel or office after a clinician reviews your health. Good timing matters more than contents: it leaves room to spot any reaction or bruise before the day itself.
What is usually in the bag
Saline or Hartmann’s solution
Most of the bag, chosen for straightforward rehydration. The clinician sets the volume after checking blood pressure and history.
B-complex vitamins
A common, familiar addition for most people, which suits a pre-event drip where nothing new or untested is wanted.
Vitamin C
Often included in modest amounts. It is skipped or reduced for anyone with kidney stones, or with unknown G6PD status at higher doses.
Glutathione push (optional)
Some clinics offer it at the end. If you have never had it, the clinician may suggest leaving it out this close to an occasion.
Pre-event blends are usually built from components you have tolerated before. The nearer the date, the more likely the clinician is to simplify the bag rather than add anything unfamiliar.
Who tends to book it
- Graduates and their families flying into the UAE for a ceremony who want rest and rehydration after a long journey, a day or two beforehand.
- Speakers preparing for a major presentation or conference who book a quiet evening session at home or in their hotel two days ahead.
- People facing a photoshoot, gala dinner or awards night who plan the whole week around sleep, food and a single drip.
Check with a doctor first
- Anyone who bruises easily or takes blood thinners and will have bare arms: a visible mark is likely, and the clinician may advise against it.
- People who have never had the proposed ingredients and want them the day before, as an unexpected reaction would leave no time to recover.
- Anyone with heart, kidney or liver disease, or on a fluid restriction.
- Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, unless their doctor approves.
- Anyone feeling unwell with a fever or infection, who should see a doctor and may need to reschedule.
How the visit goes
When booking on WhatsApp, share the date of your event and what you plan to wear. The clinician uses this to pick a day, and the nurse can choose a cannula site that will stay covered, such as the inner elbow rather than the back of the hand.
Vitals and history come first, including any recent cosmetic treatments. During the infusion you can rest with an eye mask or run through your speech. The nurse remains present and keeps the rate steady.
After removal, firm pressure on the site for several minutes reduces bruising. Avoid heavy lifting with that arm for the rest of the day. If a bruise does appear, a makeup artist can usually cover it, but warn them in advance.
How long it takes
A typical session lasts around 30 to 60 minutes, and the full visit about an hour. Choosing a smaller bag shortens it. If you are squeezing it in between fittings or rehearsals, leave a buffer: the nurse will not rush the rate, and you should rest briefly before heading out.
How often
This is usually a one-off before a specific occasion. If you find yourself wanting a drip before every event just to feel presentable, the clinician may suggest looking at sleep, stress, diet or iron levels with a doctor. Persistent tiredness or puffiness has causes worth checking properly.
What shapes the price
- Number of vitamins added to the base fluid
- Whether a glutathione push is included
- Home, office or hotel location and emirate
- Evening or weekend appointment time
- Whether others in your party book the same slot

The UAE angle
The UAE’s event season peaks in the cooler months, when gala dinners, award nights, university graduations and conferences cluster between roughly October and April. Popular dates fill fast, so book a few days ahead. Avoid booking for the morning of an evening where alcohol will be served: a drip is not preparation for drinking, and the clinician would rather you arrive simply rested. Outdoor shoots in the heat also call for water through the day and shade between shots.
Who may give an IV drip in the UAE
In the UAE an IV drip is a medical procedure, not a beauty treatment. It is given by clinicians licensed for it, working under a licensed health facility, after an assessment. Which authority licenses them depends on where the visit happens.
| Where | Licensing authority |
|---|---|
| Dubai | Dubai Health Authority (DHA) |
| Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra | Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) |
| Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah | Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) |
We pass bookings only to partner clinics licensed for the emirate of your visit. You are always welcome to ask the nurse for their name and licence details.

Questions people ask
How many days before should I book?
One to three days before is a sensible window. It leaves time to notice any bruise, headache or reaction, and to sleep properly afterwards. The same morning is generally discouraged, especially if the event involves alcohol, long hours standing or heat. The clinician can suggest the best day once they know your schedule.
Will the cannula leave a mark in photos?
It might. A small bruise or pinprick at the cannula site is common, especially for people with fine veins or on blood thinners. Mention a sleeveless outfit or a close-up shoot so the nurse can choose a less visible spot and press firmly afterwards. Concealer usually hides minor marks well.
Should I try something new, like NAD+ or glutathione, before the event?
It is better not to. A first-time ingredient carries a small chance of flushing, nausea or another reaction, and the days before an occasion are the wrong time to find out. Stick to components you have had before, or keep the bag simple, and try new options in a quieter week.
Can colleagues or family book at the same time?
Yes, several adults at one address can be booked together, but each person answers health questions separately and the clinician approves each one individually. Nobody should feel obliged to join in. Share the number of people and their preferred times on WhatsApp so that enough nurses can be arranged.
