Is an IV drip at home available in Abu Dhabi?
Short answer
Yes. An IV drip can be arranged at homes, hotels and offices across Abu Dhabi emirate, from the main island and Al Reem to the mainland suburbs and Al Ain, through a partner clinic licensed by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH). The clinic’s clinician reviews your health answers first, and a DoH-licensed nurse gives the drip and remains for the whole session.
Key points
- Abu Dhabi emirate, Al Ain and Al Dhafra included, falls under the Department of Health (DoH).
- A nurse licensed only in Dubai is not thereby cleared to practise in Abu Dhabi.
- Bridges to Reem, Saadiyat, Yas and Al Maryah shape travel time at peak hours.
- Visits to Al Ain and Al Dhafra are usually planned further ahead than city ones.
- Visitor registration is routine in Reem towers and gated mainland villa compounds.
Islands, bridges and the mainland
Abu Dhabi city sits on an island joined by bridges to its neighbours, and the route a nurse takes matters. Al Reem and Al Maryah are a short hop from the downtown grid, while Saadiyat and Yas lie further out along the highway towards Dubai. Darb toll gates on the main crossings charge at rush hour, and mainland suburbs such as Khalifa City and Mohammed Bin Zayed City, though easy to park in, take longer to reach during the evening exodus from the island.
Al Ain and Al Dhafra
Al Ain belongs to Abu Dhabi emirate, so the same DoH licensing applies there, but it lies around two hours by road from the capital and is normally covered by clinics based in the city itself. Western region towns such as Ruwais, Madinat Zayed and Liwa are further still. Visits there depend on a partner clinic having a nurse within reach, so send an exact location pin and allow extra notice.
Checking who is coming
When you book, find out which clinic the nurse works for, and request its name and licence details before you confirm if you would like to look them up. On the day, it is reasonable for the nurse to produce their DoH professional licence. Our coordinators arrange the logistics; the clinic’s clinician makes every medical decision, including whether the drip goes ahead.

Questions people ask
Can I have a drip at a hotel on Yas or Saadiyat Island?
Usually, yes, if the hotel accepts outside medical visitors and the guest receiving the drip requested it personally. Resorts on both islands often route visitors through the main lobby or a security post. Share the hotel name and room number, and allow extra time on major event days at Yas, when traffic around the island builds.
Do you cover Al Ain?
Yes, through DoH-licensed partner clinics operating in Al Ain. That includes neighbourhoods such as Al Jimi and Al Muwaiji and, with more notice, homes towards Jebel Hafeet. Availability varies from day to day, so message us your location and preferred time and we will confirm what is realistic.
Is Ramadan timing different in Abu Dhabi?
Screening stays exactly the same, but many people prefer a visit after iftar so the drip falls outside fasting hours. Roads across the bridges can be very busy in the hour before iftar and again later in the evening, so leave some leeway. Whether a drip affects the fast is a religious matter, best put to a scholar you trust.
