IV drip at home in Al Aqah

Yes. We arrange IV drips for guests at the Al Aqah beach resorts and at the private villas along this coast. Because it is a long way from most clinics, visits are usually booked ahead. Tamam coordinates; a licensed partner clinic assesses you and its nurse gives the drip. Fujairah, Al Aqah included, falls under the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP).

The area

Al Aqah is a narrow resort coast in northern Fujairah, squeezed between the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman, with Dibba to the north and Khor Fakkan to the south. It is less a neighbourhood than a string of large beach hotels, with small villages, farms and private villas in the gaps. Snoopy Island, a rocky islet just offshore, is its best-known reference point and a favourite snorkelling spot. The historic Al Bidiyah Mosque, often described as the oldest in the UAE, is a short drive south.

Getting to you

Visitors usually come over the mountains via Masafi and down towards Dibba, or through Fujairah City and north along the coast road; from Dubai either route often takes around two hours. The coast road runs as one line past the resorts, so a hotel name is usually enough to find you. Each resort sets its own rules for outside visitors: tell reception, give your room and booking name, and confirm the hotel accepts a visiting clinician. Private villas need a map pin and gate details.

Why people here book

Almost every message here comes from holidaymakers. Guests ask after snorkelling at Snoopy Island or a long day under the east coast sun, after a late flight followed by the drive across the mountains, or when one member of a family group feels flat on a short break. Divers sometimes enquire about recovery; the clinician asks about recent dives and any symptoms, because some post-dive problems need urgent medical care rather than a drip. Friends sharing a villa also ask about group sessions.

Timing

Resort weekends from October to April are the busiest, and the coast road slows on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings as visitors arrive and leave. Summer humidity is very high. Given the distance, partner clinics usually need several hours’ notice, often a day, and late-night visits may be limited. We confirm a window rather than a fixed arrival time.

Who licenses the visit

Al Aqah is in Fujairah emirate, so the visiting clinic and its nurses must be MOHAP-licensed. A resort spa’s wellness treatments are a separate service from a licensed medical visit.

Questions from Al Aqah

Can I book a drip for the day I check in?

It helps to message before you leave home. Send the resort name, your arrival day and the health basics, and the partner clinic can review in advance and suggest a slot. Same-day requests on arrival are harder in Al Aqah because of the travel involved.

I went diving and now feel unwell. Should I book a drip?

Not as a first step. Joint pain, numbness, weakness, breathing trouble or unusual tiredness after a dive can signal decompression illness, which needs urgent specialist care. Tell your dive centre and call 998. A home drip is no substitute for that assessment.

Does the resort have to agree to the visit?

In practice, yes. Each hotel decides how it handles outside clinicians, and some prefer their own services. Ask at reception before we book the nurse, and pass on any requirements, such as clinic details or a visitor pass, so the nurse is expected on arrival.
